2003 Toyota Matrix 103,000 miles ..
When I turn my AC on, a weird smells comes out for a few minutes. It smells like vomit. I hate it soo much. What do I do??

change cabin filter

^ x2 also from time to time use the A/C w/out recirculating (MAX A/C) the air. Moisture will remain on the condenser and bacteria will cause that nasty mildew smell.

The a/c cabin filter is locates behind the glove compartment.

^^^ this
To prevent it, turn off your ac about 3-5miles from your final destination, but leave the fan on HI to dry out the condenser.

Last but not least, don't go to Toyota so they charge you 50$ to replace your cabin air filter. Go to a local shop, buy your CAF for less then 20 bucks, go home and find a phillips head screwdriver. Open your glovebow, see that screw holding it at the right ? Take it off, everything else is straightforward. Still can't believe how Toyota robs money from doing this simple task.

Screw? You needn't remove any screws. It's just a plastic clip.

No screws, just 2 tabs, 1 one each side of the front cover. Push both tabs inward and it will release and pop out forward. Then replace filter by sliding new filter into the compartment making sure right side is facing UP. Then press cover back on, it will snap back on.

Filter is only 15 bucks at auto shops. Dealer charges 4 times that amount, so don't get there ever.

uhm, you do need a phillips screw driver to remove the glovebox to GET TO the a/c cabin filter.

It seems that your air con needs to clean out. The fact that you need to set a time when you want to do the maintenance. Hopefully, it would be a big help.
