Maybe i should've lowered the mileage to like 70-80 to acutally see where Central Cali. stands. Stockton is far enough to be in Norcal. I'm guess somewhere within Bakersfield and Los Banos.

Red, Matrix. Still bone a** stock, but I've only had it for a 5 weeks. Actually, it has XRS22's old (I believe crusty is the term he used to describe them on toyotanation) chrome wheels on it just because I like shiney things.

I'm gunna keep it stock for the time being, until I decide that I'm gunna keep it. I keep burning the damned clutch on it... which really annoys the crap out of me because I had 150k miles on my previous car, and it was still on the original clutch...

Anyways, if the clutch goes at 10k like I read about so many of them doing, I'm gunna get rid of the XRS and get an Audi A3.

Now if they ever manage to get a turbo kit CARB certified for the XRS, then I'll pay to put a stronger transmission in it and keep the XRS.

just to let you know. When I got mine (used it has 42k) I replaced the clutch at 46k which sucks. The A3 kicks a**,btw the does it have the same engine as the GTI 1.8T? Personaly I dont like the coupe hatchback. I was going to get (import) skyline with probably 700 hp but the damn DMV wont register it. So I am saving money to either get the new STi or maybe EVO. I don't think I will inverst more in the XRS, only if the ATR turbo is very worth it. Because the other turbos starts at 4k and up for only extra 60 hp.

hey, he has my ol' wheels . I've been meaning to test drive the sti and evo just to get a feel for the turbo and power control. Since i'll have this for a while i plan to put a turbo in it 'cause it sounds like a great deal. Then it'll probably go to my son when he starts to drive in the next 6 years. Then i gotta find another car or just keep this one and get hime another car but he likes this one and so do all his friends.

IMHO, the evo sucks. Its fun for the first hours worth of driving, but then it kinda gets old and uncomfortable. The STI is is a bit more forgiving on longer trips, and still has tons of power. It would be my choice over the EVO.

The A3 has a 2.0t engine in it... I think it gives the same HP as the 1.8t, but a heck of a lot more torque at a lot lower RPMs (200 lbs at 1800 rpm!)

I wanna check that out for myself and get a feel if that's what i wanna got after or something else. Id'e like to test drive the sti and evo maybe the srt-4 too. Since i don't how long the matrix models are gonna go.

buy the evo or RX-8 if you want good car dont buy sti they are slover then evo if you want fast and style buy rx-8

2 XRS has burning clutch, and my sibling is learning to drive. Bad clutch + New driver = $$$

I would say Civic Si & S2000 but it sounds like you dont want a screamer anymore.

Another Bako Boy in the house. Just letting everyone know. This is actually my first post in the forums.

2004 Matrix XRS, Silver rolling on on 18" American Racing 105s. Some say it looks like a Raider Nation Car, but that is simply not true, it's a Coyboy's fan through and through.

Anyways, just letting everyone know that my room mate and I have Matrix's and we're working on getting them looking good and going fast.

So far I'm kicking a catback exhaust that was on the car when I purchased it so I'm not sure what kind it is.

As for what I want to do, alternator pulley system, K&N Short Ram, new plugs & wires, header, hi flow cat, short shifter, some electronics, maybe a body kit, and possibly some graphics.

Not too much as this is still a daily driver, but it sure it a fun daily driver, specially when I can blow away a GMC Sierra 1500, oh man that was soo much fun, boy was that guy pissed off.

Anyways just letting everyone know that Bakersfield, CA is represented here.

Depending on how many miles are on the car, i wouldn't worry about plugs and we don't have wires since we're distributor-less. post some pics. of the ride if you please.

My 04 is running at about 50k and my room mates is running around 35k I think.

I'll see if we can get a couple pics of both cars on here as well as individuals.

But yeah, we both have some it's just getting around to posting them. I have to say there are quite a few Trix's here in Bako, but I guess the owners don't know about the site.We should shoot for some license plate frames or some pics, we may already have them but, yeah, try to get the word out.

Anyways, I'll get those pics up ASAP.

We should try and get a Cali meat and great going. I know the two of us would be down and we also have a third friend that just bought an 06 or an 07 and we're looking to start up a local club as well as become part of the state wide "family" if you will. We had our first meet back in '05 but it was w/ toyotanation(my first forum before MO). There was one other guy in fresno w/ a camry(mid-late 90's), my matrix, 2 other camry's from norcal and 1 matrix/scion tC from bako. We had it over at Hooters in Fresno. I got in contact w/ another trix owner in Kerman, bout 25 mins south of madera. We've had a couple other meets at Hooters but then it just kinda died out, probably to far for some ppl to drive.

It's on the 23rd of June, day after my 32nd birthday. I'm gonna got this time since i missed last years. But i already went to one and it's fun as hell. Your like 4 hrs. from me so dunno if your gonna head up by yourself but i'm gonna try and get atleast 2 ppl from Fresno area to go. Some may come from the socal area but most of everyone else will up be up around norcal area anyway. Check the Bay area forum for the regisitration which is now open.
