(IMG:http://matrixowners.com/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) when everyone gets home we'll all scan & post the print-outs and flesh out the details.. QUOTE (Slightly_Stoopid @ Aug 6 2006, 09:22 AM) You're not the only one. You should've have seen the 20-25 people's face when the results showed up (IMG:http://matrixowners.com/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I went to a shop friday morning to get her tuned. Everybody knows that the 2zz is a b*atch to tune and the guy even though he knows the Hydra very well, he tunes subaru so let's say that a few surprises were in the bag for him. Towards the end of the tune we concentrated on the second cam, to lean the mixture because we were seeing high 9's low 10's afr (IMG:http://matrixowners.com/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) We got them down to about high 10's low 11's (still rich...) and we called it a day. For some reasons, those setting didn't stay in the hydra ecu (that problem happened a few times during the day for some unknown reason). Basically, I dyno'ed on the second cam with some major rich afr which of course will affect power. I took Nick and Rick (turbo&auto and Evilthorne) for a ride after the dyno and they both notice the afr being that rich. We then lowered it to a more acceptable level and the 3 of us agreed that she felt more powerfull up there. Nick even offered me to split an hour of dyno time with him cause he wanted to tune his beast too but at the end, we decided to just call it a day. On that day, the car only put that much to the wheel. Was it in a perfect situation? I don't think so. Beside the map problem, I developped an exhaust leak on the trip (almost 7 hours long) that I couldn't fix. That too kept the turbo from spooling like it usually does. I wasn't able to reach full boost until 5000rpm instead of 4000rpm and the car never saw 8 psi of boost instead of normally 9 psi as per the hydra program. Maybe because of the leak, maybe because of the heat... Beleive me guys, I'm the first one to be shocked here. But on a better day, I beleive my trix to be able to put down around 250/260 to the wheel. That might be far from the 292whp that Denny has, but I'll take that power any day. Still some time before she goes into storage for winter and I will work hard to get her up there. I guess I owe you guys another dyno. I will make sure to do it before winter. From a disappointed xrs06 To all that were there, thanks for a great day, was a lot of fun! |

Im totally surprised by TRIXR4KDS. Good stuff Wayne! (IMG:http://matrixowners.com/style_emoticons/default/clapping.gif)
But hey, us cosmo guys always dyno high. (IMG:http://matrixowners.com/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) As for XRS06, he's not making excuses. Just had a bad day. Definitely possible to make a lot more once the bugs are ironed out. Go get em Benoit.. That is one sweet xrs. (IMG:http://matrixowners.com/style_emoticons/default/diablo.gif) Slightly_stoopid, here's my mod list . Cheers |

QUOTE (mistamatrix @ Aug 6 2006, 11:26 AM) Thanks, I was kinda shocked myself. I was hoping to meet the other's average of 167. I couldn't believe my eyes when those numbers popped up. Considering I've just got a Cosmo CAI (with the cheap supplied filter) and the Magnaflow catback. Plain and simple. Thanks to all once again for all the help in getting me here (I'm auto mechanics illiterate!). Great meet! Had a blast! Back home safe and sound! Nice meeting everyone. A very special thank you to James for following this through to the very end. |
