In Topic: Help Me To Choose Subwoofer For My 1000w Amp Jl Audio

I ran this exact amp with a 10" RE Audio SXX. Had a box built to exact RE specifications of 1.25 cubic feet tuned at @34Hz. Was very pleased with the output of the amp, and the way the sub handled the power.

So I installed all new speakers and an external amp along with a new head unit. The speakers all work fine because I used them before I swapped out the headunit. My problem is I'm only getting audio out of the drivers side front. I don't know whether the audio composites are not hook up fully or the speaker wire to the amp...anyone have any thoughts?

Check your connections before you ask for help.

That one should be good, but expensive for a 300 watt RMS amp! Whats the ft^3 of the box? Go to a fabric store and get some pillow filler, and pack your box with it....it will help since your box is going to be small! Dont bother getting a capacitor. It will do nothing for you!

The cap was only if he was going 1000W plus.

Crapacitors are a band-aid (and a small one at that) for a weak electrical system.

Truth.

need update, I have the same MM6501 and Love them!!!

Not unlike my old Polk MOMOs, they lack heavily in the low end. Doesn't really matter though; once the sub is in, I won't be sending any lows to them anyway.

How did you wind up mounting yours? The brackets they came with didn't work so I wound up making my own out of some 1/4" plastic I had sitting around. Unfortunately, that extra 1/4" raised the speaker enough that I can't snap the bottom of the door panel on without hitting the speaker.

I'm probably gonna wind up cutting up the factory mounts which I wanted to avoid, but oh well...

Here's a shot of the volt meter. Yanked out the coin holder and TPMS button since I've never used either. A little work with the dremel and the meter popped right in. Needs a little touch up around the edges.
