'03 Matrix, 5 speed manual, 236,000 amazing miles. SFor the past week, more often than not, when I turn the key, everything lights up, but there's nothing happening with the engine.  No clicking of the starter - nothing.  When it does crank, it cranks right up.  Alternator good, battery good.  So two motor heads suggest either the ignition starter switch located on the end of key tumbler, or the clutch switch, which I assume is the button that gets depressed when the clutch is pushed in.  I've removed the ignition starter switch and ready to order a new one, but thought I'd see if anyone wants to weigh in on this.  Thanks in advance.

I'd try bypassing the clutch switch before buying anything. not sure if it's normally open or normally closed, but try unplugging the switch. if it won't crank, then try a jumper wire between the terminals in that wiring harness. if either of those work, then it's a bad clutch switch.
