According to opinions from YouTube teaching, rear drum brakes should be adjusted to a tightness that amounted wheel can only free spin about 1.5 - 2 revolutions by a single push.

OK, I do this adjustment on a regular base, but..... aren't they self adjustable? Why we need to adjust them manually? The reality is, about 3 months driving after an adjustment,  the drum brake will get 'loose'. I mean it still brakes when pedal being pressed, but the wheel can spin more than 4-5 revolutions upon single push.

Is this normal? Is the count of free spin revolution an indicator of a loosen drum brake? or there are some problems with the adjusters?

Any reply values.

Self adjusting, by reversing up to 35mph and rapidly and firmly applying the brake. Might take a few times, depending how far out of adjustment they are.

They will adjust automatically but dealing with rear drums to many things can go wrong and may not work.
