This is an 09, 2.4L, XRS.
Drove the car around all day long. Been almost 95 degrees out today. Parked the car, went inside for about 5 minutes and when I came back out it would not start. Acted like a dead battery. Checked the battery and it was at 8-9 volts. Tried charging the battery to get it to a battery store but no go. Took battery out and went to purchase new one. Got back about 45 minutes later and put new battery in. Car started fine.
BUT, when you press on the accelerator it is like it is not connected. It does not rev the motor. The traction contorl, check engine, and a few other lights are on.
Any ideas what may be happening?

Odd. Possibly your alternator as these are signs of a bad one, (especially the dead battery), but I'd get your CEL checked as well...

Check the car when I got it running and the alternator was charging fine.

^ Well, onto the next solution.....get the CEL checked or scan it yourself if you have a scanguage, scan tool, etc.
Still not sure why the other lights are on with the CEL unless your wiring got tampered with.
