Just got a letter in the mail from Toyota saying that "the ECM for certain 2005-2008 corolla and matrix models equipped with the 1zz-fe engine and two wheel drive may have been improperly manufactured...engine warning light could be illuminated, harsh shifting could occur, or the engine may not start."

dealership says they'll replace at no charge...
So did any other 05-08 matrix owners get this letter about the recall?

Srisouly , YOUR supposed to know this. (lets see what dnm says about this ;))

YOUR dealer will replace it for you at no charge. I had mine changed in April 2011. I had no problems with mine anyway but I don't mind having it done anyway.

Ok please don't flame me :( I've had the car 6 months and if this is an old recall I'd have assumed it would have been taken care of by the previous owner but apparently not...I just figured I'd ask...as the letter didn't say when the recall was initially started...I just got it.
