I have installed some HIDs 8000K with 35W ballasts on my 03 matrix. (My DRLs are disabled via snipping the pin 12 wire) The problem is that after a week of normal use, only one light will come on. I thought it was the bulb, so I replaced them. Same thing. Replaced ballasts. Same thing. Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks!

I had this issue, what HID Kit are you using? The cheap Chinese HID kits aren't all that reliable. I now use DDM Kit for my Fogs and Morimoto's for my Low beam haven't had an issue since....

if you replace the HID bulb with a regular filament type does the problem go away? or does the bulb try to power on and then shuts off immediately?

Yep its definitely the chinese one. Its an intermittent problem, so its making it difficult to fix. Im sure its the ballast, so ill just look for these morimoto ones
thanks man

get a resistor, sometimes what it is is you're pushing too much power and ur car can't handle it so it shuts one off, a resistor will stop it, usually this only happens with American made Mopar cars and not JDM, unfortunately of course we're one of the only ones with this issue...

If they are 35watt ballasts our cars shouldnt have any problems powering them. Don't get crappy Chinese made hid kits. Get something more reliable, my DDM tuning kits have been running perfectly ever since I got them years ago.

the eurolite hid kit for the 8k-k i no you have to splice into either a black or blue wire that runs off your headlight that is working. for some reason they all come like this and only one light will come on but i believe your peanut bulbs will still work that act as your high beam to the car so you can still run your fog lights with hids. good luck

i have DDMkits too. theyre the best kits avail for the CHEAP range.
i say this only because they have a lifetime warranty. -- one of my ballasts went out sent it to them they sent me a new one :) they even do it with bulbs provided the bulb isnt shattered.

WHAAAAAA!!!

Darnit, just ordered a set of new bulbs from them (one of my fogs went out - these were DDM bulbs) - the headlights are still the original set I got back when I first did the HID's. I opted to just replace all 4 and have 3 spares for issues, but now that I know DDM does lifetime on bulbs too, definately going to remember this for the future.

Check all your wiring, quite often the wire will pull away from the plug end. Also use some dielectric grease inside your connection plugs.
