Just to let you know it's a huge PIA...

I had mine replaced to LEDs and the guy who did it took my old ones out, you have to like get tithe bulbs from behind them and pull them out, idk how he did it :(

It truely is a PITA its hard to explain but the whole white thing the bulbs are in, needs to come part way out and the bulbs twist in and out from the back. Go get the replacement from the dealership which is gonna cost you 10 bucks, then you will see how it locks in place. it doesn't take alot of force its just a b**** to get at.

Probably not the same step-by-step, but I think the bulbs and basic concept are the same - here's the DIY for the Corolla's HVAC lights: CLICK
Performance Mods: K&N Typhoon SRI, Megan Racing coilovers, DC Sports strut bar, Alutec lightweight crank pulley, R1 Concepts cross-drilled/slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads, NRG voltage stabilizer/grounding kit, Optima Red Top battery

Other Mods: Chrome w/black mesh grille, H9 chrome projector headlights, 5000K 35W HIDs, 2nd gen Altis LED tails, AVS window visors, stubby antenna, Tc armrest, Räzo quick-shift knob, Enkei Super 7 18" wheels, Avital remote start w/ trunk pop & lock/unlock, LED Swap: every single bulb replaced w/ LEDs (interior & exterior), plus engine bay LEDs and under-dash LED bars

Coming soon: JP header, Vibrant axle-back exhaust, high-flow catalytic converter, Weapon-R oil catch can, TRD CAI

How do you guys get behind the light panel? I got everything down to the white part. I press the 2 tabs on the side to release it, but I can't pull it out and flip it down like shown in the guide. There seems to be a big white piece on the right hand side that prevents it.
I bought it back to the shop that broke it and they said it will cost me $70 just have it replaced (If i bring my own bulb) Any help would be great. I really don't want to use them again because they broke the bulb trying to replace the shift bulb.
They also left scratches and pry marks all over my dash.
I talked to them about it but they claim it was like that when they got it!

It takes quite a bit of twisting turning to flip it. The thing on the right side is the control cables for the air and fan. I had to finagle it such that it's flipped around upside down inside the dash. Reminder - I did a Corolla, so the setup may be a bit different.

If anyone is trying this, you need to also remove the radio and reach over from the top.
Put some tape on the outside of the lamp holes and put the bulb through from the back. Don't drop it! Hope the tape will hold it in place. Then get your small screw driver and carefully screw it into place.

Another member recommended the 84999-10090 bulb. This is the correct bulb and it's the same size as the original but I used the 90011-01019 bulb instead. The housing is the same, but the bulb is smaller and also cheaper.
84999-10090 is $10 while 90011-01019 only costed me $5.
