+1. Post 80's Nascar blows. I want the days where you'd have to sell to the public what you were going to race.

We do your just not looking in the right places. Well this is as close as you are going to get, around here anyways. Thankfully they will be streaming all races live in entirety this year, I have already cleared my weekend work schedule. American Le Mans Website
Fan friendly too. I was at this race

Old ALMS (named FIA or whatever it was) > ALMS of today

Yeah, we are hard pressed to find broadcast of anything racing like what we posted that is in Europe. :\

That's cool although, I won't be able to watch at work or get work off to watch for that matter. :\

If you do go, Make sure to get a paddock pass, if its not free frankie. Its great to get up and close to the cars, ALMS is one of the most fan accessible series I have seen. I would also say arrive early they usually have a great collection of fan cars in the parking lot. Mid ohio does a Porsche corral, and a Corvette corral, So there are tons of cars to check out.

FIA GT1 is not new at all, its been around for over 10 years. It used to be called the FIA GT Championship and they ran all the GT classes as one. When the economy started to suffer so did thre series and it struggled greatly so they split them up. FIA GT1 and FIA GT3 are now starting to prosper thankfully. Look up a series of games called GTR and GTR2, amazing stuff.

I can't keep up with the name changes and since it's hard to watch (no broadcast here...) it's really disappointing to know I'm missing out on something great for more than 10 years...

Reminds me of by the time I go satellite the ALMS sucked and Speed went to garbage...

If you have satelite you can order packages that include stations like the Eurosport channels that cover WTCC, FIA GT, DTM, WRC etc. And most are streamed online somewhere, I will be watching the DTM race this evening/tomorrow as we have a friend making his debut for Mercedes :)

The Frances family who own NASCAR bought Speed, which has transformed into NASCAR channel. American LeMans is also controlled by the France family. I get my racing fix, watching series abroad through online.
