Simply connect the ScanGaugeII to your vehicle through it's OBDII port using the included cable, turn the ignition key and the ScanGaugeII automatically connects to your cars internal computer - it's that simple. How quickly does it refresh the readout, say the rpm or voltage?

Cruxless's Photo Cruxless 02 Feb 2011

Its basic plug and play. It's just a gauge, code reader, and trip meter. If you can navigate the web you'll be fine.

Thanks!

Anyone know how long the group deal last? For those that have the Scangaugeii, whats your favorite function?

Also, How portable are these? If my friends car threw a CEL, could i just plug it in?

It's actually not much of a deal. The retail price is $169.95. I suggest you check out the ScanGauge site http://www.scangauge...buy/index.shtml and click on the "Retailer" link. Then start calling the retailers in your area. That's what I did and luckily enough I picked one up "new" for $140.00

My favorite function will have to be the code reader.

They're extremely portable. You can plug them into any car that's an OBDII or EOBD. It takes me only a few seconds to detach mine and install it in another vehicle. If you're going to be doing that a lot then I would suggest you purchase a second cable.

This will be my 3rd car mine has been mounted in. Its great. I highly recommend this for basic monitoring. the only improvement I wish it had was some kind of data logging to SD card.

I've had one of these mounted above my rearview mirror with the BlendMount bracket (found here: http://www.amazon.co...I/dp/B001EO0YZ2) for about 2 months now.

The refresh time for the gauges is not real-time, there's about a 2-second delay in refresh. That being said, it's not really designed to be a high-performance monitor, and for the price, would you expect that? What it is designed to do is give you a variety of gauges and things that you can monitor that your gauge cluster doesn't have.

Also, this question has been asked elsewhere: No it does not give you an accurate AFR, as it reads from the OEM narrow-band O2 sensor.

If you get really in-depth with it, you can create your own gauges and functions.

The back-light color of the screen is customize-able, and it also has the capability to read/reset CEL codes.

All-in-all, for the price, a great deal, especially if you're already looking to buy a code reader of some sort.

I can't believe I haven't posted in this topic before. I've had my SGII for a few months and its been really useful to me.

I wouldn't rely on it to tell you EXACTLY how much gas you have left and whatnot, even when its calibrated with your car.

I can't say I've had an increase in MPG with it but it surely helps by telling me how much pressure the gas pedal really needs to keep up at certain speeds.

I used a simple piece of velco to hold mine between the review mirror and the roof. Haven't had an issue in over 5 yrs with it. Why pay 50bucks for something you can do for 10cents?
