Bad coil pack, had the same issue in my ES300 Lexus and it was a cracked coilpack. Change the coil packs around and I bet the misfires will change to different cylinders. Also only user Denso Iridum plugs everything else is shite.

The NGK IX's are popular here and have had no issues. Just another option for you.

Some Tech advice here Swap the coils as that is the most likely cause. Do not use Bosch platinum plugs the heat range of our engines is not good for those plugs they will foul out very quickly. If the coil swap does not move the misfire the check compression if compression is good your next step is to replace the injector. If you have and obdII scan tool that will give you a data list check fuel trim if fuel trim is negative % it is and ignition or compression problem if it is positive % you have a fuel problem. Let me know what you find.

I just returned from the dealer. I'm on here trying to find where I can buy a fuel injector. My CEL came on and the dealer said the code is (as it reads on the reciept they gave me) is P0301 - Cylinder # 1 misfiring. They tried changing the plug and coil but it still misfired. The mechanic (who is very good) said it needs a new fuel injector. You may need two!!
He said it was likely caused from bad gas. How this helps you out!

2003 Toyota Trix XRS with a blinking CEL, I put a dollar bill by my muffler and it sucked it in lol, my car seems like it's sputtering at stop lights and I feel a tremendous lack of power from the 2zz. Had a buddy hook up his iPOD and OBD-II Car Diagnostics read "cylinder 3 missfire". Any word on how this cat fixed his? I will try to move coil from cylinder 3 to 1,2 or 4 and run OBD-II Car Diagnostics once again. One question! One a scale from 1-6, how hard is it to remove the coil pack? Thank in advance!

The hardest part is taking off the engine cover. It's pretty down hill after that. It's about a 1 on a scale 1 - 6 (east to hard).

WOW! Coil packs 1 & 3 were completely shot, long cracks running down the pack. My only option was to grab two at O'riley, and they're going in tomorrow morning! My XRS hasn't had a tune up since '05, what do you guys recommend I do to get this car in it's best running condition possible? I just got my routine oil change & change my serp belt. Anybody vouch for Seafoam? My AC also feels like it is blowing weak, anything I can check or clean to increase it's performance?

I'm grabbing these two coil packs from here because the ones at O'riley were $89 a pop.

Had this problem and replaced all my coil packs and the issue was resolved & my "Check Engine" light vanished! My next problem is my AC, I just replaced my AC/Heater blower motor, but now I need to see why my "Temp Gauge" shoots up then plumits back to normal.
