The last MEGA MEET for the 2005 season will be on November 5th from 7:30pm to 11:00pm! Due to the huge support that we had at last months meet, we will be asking for 1 non-perishable food item again per person as they enter the lot for the hurricane victims. The Fredericksburg Food Bank staff will be at the lot collecting the items with a bigger truck this time but I know we can fill it up again. Please feel free to bring more than one non-perishable food item if you would like because every little bit helps. If you forget to bring an item or just don't want to, a $1 donation is still being accepted to get into the lot. All donations and money made from the food sales are going to be donated to the American Red Cross. We donated $525 to the ARC after last months meet. Also, all proceeds from the raffle ticket sales will be incorporated into the raffles "Grand Prize". There are a lot of people that attend these meets that never check the forums, so please pass on the word. Hope to see a huge showing again at this next meet. www.megameet.org

MEGA MEET Updates....

1st - The Fredericksburg Food Bank sent us our event results and they could not believe that we raised over 867 lbs. of food at the Oct meet. The coolest thing is that this was all raised within a 4 hour period. Lets show them that we can raise a lot more and break the 1000 lb mark at the November meet.

2nd - We are going to try something new for the raffle at this meet. Instead of having one large raffle at the end of the night, we are going to break it up into two smaller raffles. The first one will be at 9pm at the front of the lot by the vendor booths and the second one will be at 10:30pm at the same place. Since this is the last meet of the season, our sponsors are providing allot of prizes for the raffle and they can all be viewed on our website. Click here for the raffle prizes

rock on man. i think that 2 raffles will make it go more smoothly. without all the people having disappeared and stuff so you call like 20 numbers before someone wins.

Well according to www.weather.com mother nature is going to be nice to us. Plan for a sunny day reaching into the mid 70's. But still plan to bring a jacket or sweatshirt because it does get chilly at night. So everyone make sure you plan to attend the last meet of the year in 4 days.

On the way home, I stopped at the mobil gas station and it was $2.17. I wish the gas prices were that low in Maryland. I don't think I have ever seen so many cars at a gas station before.

really, it's not worth the drive for you man. it's like a 4 hour event where people just walk around and look at people's cars and talk to the various reps from the local shops. the raffle is kinda nice, but most stuff is gift certificates for local shops. you'd be 14 hours on the road for not much to do. now if we could coordinate one with the skyline drive meet, that might be cool... problem is that they are on sat night and we'd have a 3 hour drive from the bottom end of skyline drive up to woodbridge for the mega meet and miss out on the final night of camping.
