It's pretty easy, just two screws hold the door panel on, the rest is held by clips.
Take of the screw behind the door handle and the screw in the pocket for your hand to go for closing the door.

If you have manual windows, it might be a pain to remove the clip holding the crank.

For automatic, just unplug the assembly going to the switch.

how hard do i have to pull to get the panel off? it seems like the clips are on there good or something. also...do i need to take the trim around the power window controls off before the panel?? i dont want to take a screwdriver to pop it off since its so easy to scratch it.

When you do the front driverside panel...you may want to unscrew(3 gold color screws) on the power window assembly where connects to the door panel. While you have the door panel off, carefully turn the panel upside down to reach the screws. Take care not to scratch panel or end of dash board. I did not do this when I did a speaker install on my matrix. Getting that power window connector back in was a PITA! When I put new front speakers in my brother's vibe, I made sure to just unscrew the power window assembly from the front driverside panel. Putting back that panel was a breeze. The other panels easily disconnect from the power window connectors. Just my $.02

I was wondering if anyone can give me more information on how to remove the clips. After you remove the screws do you just pull on the door panel until it comes off or do you have to disengage the clips with a screwdriver? I'm afraid I'm going to break them.

Just pull as hard as you can. It helps to get a screwdriver or something flat in there for leverage.

If you have one of these door panel tools the job would go a a lot easier.

If your lucky you won't break any plastic clips when you remove the panel(s). If you do. Don't sweat it. Go to the dealer and get some more. They are not expensive.

You can take them off without using this tool. Of course making sure you took out the screws and removed the sail panels (front) reach the door panel towards the hinges. There should be place where you can grab the panel securely. Another way is to pull at one of the corners until you free that part of the panel. Pull one clip out at a time...in other words don't try pop the door panel off all at once. Get one clip off and move to the next one.

I wouldn't use a screwdriver to remove the door panel...could really mess things up. (Just my .02).

My suggestion is to lower the window fully before you start pulling then start pulling from where the speakers are. It's a lot thicker around that area and you'll get a better grip. Do it slowly and only pull one clip out. Then, slide one finger in there [just a little inside the panel] and start moving it along the edge of the panel. This should help you pop those other clips easily and with less force.

edit:

Also, if you have power windows/locks, make sure you disengage the connection to the controls connected to the panel after popping the clips out.

holy whoring-thread-revival, batman!

haha, packing foam? are you planning to be able to put your windows down?

i've had my panels off like 10 times a piece, and i have yet to break a clip off...i dont use tools to do it, just start from the bottom corner and work my way up, clip by clip.

The green thing looks like a wire repair -- a crimp connector.

Bumping this thread rather than make a new one. The power lock, power window and speaker don't work on my front passenger door. I'm assuming there's a connection problem. My question is, is there one connector that powers the lock, window and speaker on that door? I know it can't be a fuse problem because the windows and locks on my other three doors work.

Well the Speakers is on its own plug, the Power Window and Power Door Looks are on their own... Odd that your speakers and PDL PW aren't working on Front Passenger, when did you notice problem? did you change anything in your car?

The previous owner had an accident and that door was replaced. I'm assuming the collision shop didn't plug in the connectors on that door. I do see that power wires go into the door. I'm going to have to take apart the door panel to investigate.
